  1. If it feels bad for you, it probably is
  2. You are the only one that can fix YOU
  3. People don’t care as much as you think they do
  4. What people think about you really doesn’t matter
  5. Everything happening to you right now is happening for a reason
  6. Sh*t happens, it’s about how you react to it that dictates the rest of your day (month, year)
  7. If you avoid risks, then you probably won’t get anywhere
  8. No matter what you do, there will always be a hater
  9. The less you take responsibility for what’s happening to you, the less you’ll grow
  10. Thinking and doing will never be the same thing

How to get your life together overnight:

get your life together

1. Sort your bed out (& brush your teeth too!)

Sounds silly, but something as simple as sorting your bed out in the morning, brushing your teeth and getting dressed for the day can really help you to get your life together.

Starting with the small things will help you move towards the bigger things. This is probably the smallest action you can take to reach your goals step by step.

Making your bed first thing also encourages you to form a habit and a small routine.

Routines are extremely helpful when it comes to achieving those goals.

Making your bed and brushing your teeth is such a simple act that helps with productivity, in a complicated, hectic day.

Bring order to your bed > Bring order to your life!

2. Write it all down the night before

I’m not sure how it is for you but for some reason I think about all the things I need to do and work on in the evenings.

And, if I don’t write it down then, by the morning I would have forgotten everything and not know where to begin.

The perfect time to plan the day ahead is the night before.

This allows you to reflect on the current day with actionable steps for tomorrow.

I find it useful to create a schedule from the time I wake to the time I go to bed, but others may prefer to write down 3-5 priorities for the day.

It depends on you.

However you do it, make sure you know exactly what it is you need to do the next day, so you can wake up and get it done!

3. Use a good planner

I have always found planners super useful because it’s give you a chance to get everything that’s in your head out on paper (or on screen).

Whether it’s a dedicated work planner, personal life planner or both combined, I think it’s so important to have a one place to be able to organize your life.

A good planner will have sections for you to plan your day, week, month and year, whilst having a space for you to write down goals and accomplishments.

Set up a planning routine that works for you.

Mine is every Sunday, where I plan out my entire week; the goals, priorities, commitments and even my meal plan for the week.

This way, I feel über organized and know each day what it is I am supposed to be doing.

Remember, good planning without good working is pointless. So if you’ve started to write down your goals, start to take the action steps necessary to get there.

4. Plan your “fun” morning routine

Routines shouldn’t feel like WORK and if they do you should really find a way to switch it up.

You should love the things you do every day.

You can create your own “perfect” morning routine by filling it with things that make you happy and give you the motivation you need to keep going.

Chances are if your morning sucks, the rest of your day will too, so have an amazing breakfast, go for a walk, meditate….

Whatever it is, give your day the start it deserves in the morning.

5. Release some of that bad energy

Is there anything in your life that is causing you to feel negatively towards or if you didn’t have that you’d be a happier person?

If there is, then it’s time to write it down my friend and start taking the steps to remove it completely.

The last thing you want or need to do is surround yourself with things or people that are negatively impacting the way you live your life.

Start the acknowledge the negative thoughts, things and people by writing them down.

Each day when you look at these things you’ll be able to slowly start letting them go until they’re out completely.

Social Media can play a huge negative role in important day-to-day factors such as self esteem, mental health and memory.

Try a stay away from social media or limit the hours you spend on it. This is one part of your routine you don’t want to include!

6. Take responsibility

Part of accepting change and moving on to bigger better things, is taking responsibility for where you are.

Remember those brutal truths in the beginning of this post? Well here it is again:

You are the only one that can fix YOU!

Start to rethink the things you may have done to put you in that sticky situation and ways to improve next time.

Acknowledging where you went wrong will make falling down and getting up again ALOT quicker next time.

It’s all apart of the process!

7. Use time blocks (and stick to them)

As much as I love to write to do lists, the truth is, a list without a deadline won’t help me get anything done.

I like to, not only, write out my list of priorities and goals but also add a block of time to complete them throughout the day.

These are called time blocks and are so helpful when it comes to getting things done!

Some tasks will be blocked out for 30 mins, other tasks 2 hours.

But be sure to add these blocks to each task you need to complete throughout your day.

If you don’t, tasks are almost guaranteed to take longer than they should. If you know you only have an hour to complete an assignment, you’re more likely to accomplish it in that time.

Be sure to have some time in the day that isn’t scheduled or time blocked to allow some freedom.

8. Give yourself me time

Listen. We are all busy, I get it!

So busy running around after everybody else, that you forget to take time to sort yourself out.

Guess what?

It all starts with you and your mental health.

Before you sort anybody else out, you need to be able to have your sh*t together.

So spend a few hours a week where it’s just you time and focus ONLY on that.

9. Go back to being a kid for a day

Do you remember how free and experimental you were when you were a kid?

It doesn’t hurt to revisit those positive childhood memories by doing the things you did back then.

This could be anything from jumping around for 10 minutes straight to release that pent up energy, or sitting there with a coloring book for a few hours.

Part of being an adult means being forced to deal with adult commitments and responsibilities.

When you are able to take a few hours a week to get back to being a child, you trigger your mind into feeling a little more free and imaginative.

This doesn’t mean letting go of all responsibilities but just letting go and taking time for yourself.

10. Purge, purge, purge!

Now it’s time to get rid of give away the items that you no longer want or need.

This includes anything that doesn’t serve you or make your happy.

When you get rid of the clutter in your environment, you’ll feel as if you’re getting rid of the clutter in your mind.

Trust me, this helps!

Whether you sell your once loved items on eBay or give them to Charity, you’ll be doing yourself a big service by letting go of the things that are not contributing positively to your life.

Conclusion: Get your life together today

I hope you use the above tips to help you get your life together.

These are just some of the steps I’ve taken to take control and start living a life I chose instead of the one that was handed to me.

Remember to take small steps instead of that big leap (until your ready) to achieve your goals and live happier.
